Mental Health Training

Mental Health Training is delivered by Tracey, a registered and qualified First Aid for Mental Health Instructor. The Mental Health training courses are nationally regulated qualifications Levels 1, 2 and 3 Awards in First Aid for Mental Health. Distance learning courses are available while we are not allowed to meet! If booking a distance learning course, please choose the date by which you aim to finish (this can be altered)

MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS AND FIRST AID FOR MENTAL HEALTH TRAINING COURSE INFORMATION

Tracey of PlumEssence and Training is a registered and qualified First Aid for Mental Health instructor and delivers Ofqual and SQA regulated national qualifications in First Aid for Mental Health.  The First Aid for Mental Health qualifications have been developed by First Aid Awards (FAA).

Having had severe mental health problems years ago resulting in hospitalisation. Tracey is passionate about raising awareness of mental health with the public and UK workplaces, being able to talk from the heart as well as guiding the content of national qualifications, regulated by Ofqual which are listed on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) and The Scottish Qualifications Authority (SCQF).  These courses are available as open courses for anyone to attend or can be delivered in your own workplace.

The First Aid for Mental Health training courses have been developed using the latest research and information from some of the world’s largest medical institutions, ensuring all knowledge gained on the courses is up to date. Learners are provided with the appropriate tools and information to support a person with a suspected mental health condition.

These courses have been developed within the UK and as such the unique needs of the British public and UK workplaces have been taken into highest consideration during the development. 

These courses are suitable for anyone with an interest in learning about awareness of mental health and first aid for mental health.

Ofqual regulated certificates will be supplied to all delegates completing the courses.

First Aid for Mental Health Awareness – FAA Level 1 Award – 4 hours £67 per delegate – distance learning also available

This is a ½-Day mental health awareness course suitable for anyone.  It is aimed at providing learners with the knowledge to identify suspected mental health conditions and the skills to start a conversation and be able to signpost the person towards professional help.  It is a great starter course to see if First Aid for Mental is for you.

The course includes:

How to start conversations and provide any advice,

What is First Aid for Mental Health

First Aid for Mental Health – FAA Level 2 Award – 1 day  9am – 5pm  £117 per delegate

This 1-Day course is suitable for anyone, It aims to provide learners with the knowledge to identify suspected mental health conditions, the skills to start a conversation and be able to signpost the person towards professional help and also expand on the effects of drugs and alcohol, incorporating the First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan.  It also covers ways in which a positive mental health culture can be supported within a workplace.  Learners attending the course can be considered as First Aiders for Mental Health and be a point of contact for those with suspected mental health conditions.

The course includes:

Identifying mental health conditions,

How to start conversations and provide any advice,

Drugs and alcohol,

What is first aid for mental health,

First aid for mental health action plan,

First aid for mental health in the workplace.

Supervising First Aid for Mental Health – FAA Level 3 Award – 2 day 9am – 5pm both days £197 per delegate

This 2-Day course goes into detail on a wide range of mental health conditions and the support and help provided by healthcare professionals. It covers the content of both the Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications.  The course is suitable for anyone in the workplace but is aimed at Trainers, Assessors, HR, Welfare and Wellbeing personnel, Supervisors and Managers and those who wish to encourage positive mental health within the workplace.
